LCC celebrates its 100th birthday at Guthridge!

Students in Mr. Holmes' class and Mrs. Gordon's class earned a slush party today for finishing all of their monthly IXL skills. Congratulations to those who made it!!!

Students in Life Skills learned about warm and cool colors and how these colors occur during a volcanic eruption. Mrs. Shields then showed students an art technique that splatters paint onto the paper to create the effect of an eruption. 🌋

Mr. Holmes' classes finished reading chapter 4 of Harry Potter. To celebrate, they enjoyed a large, sticky chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday Harry" written on it in green icing, just like the one Harry received in the chapter 4!

Miss Jones' class spent time with Mr. Duroni in the science lab learning about electricity this morning. 💡

Snowflakes ❄️ and snowmen ⛄️

While learning about the water cycle, students in Mrs. Brimm's class made a model to see if they could "make it rain."

Red Kingdom ❤️💛❤️💛

This week we are reading a play about the Underground Railroad.

4th grade classes held Kansas Day stations this afternoon. Miss Jones' station made their own butter.

Fourth graders celebrated Kansas Day, today. In one activity, students used a graham cracker to represent Kansas. Everyone took a bite out of the corner, spread soil (frosting), marked our capital and Parsons using sprinkles, and marked our major river. We also learned more about our capitol building. Thank you to Mrs. Piva for her help!

"'Will you walk into my parlor?' said the spider to the fly..." Mr. Holmes' class and Mrs. Gordon's class got together today to read "The Spider and The Fly" to begin their poetry unit. Do you know this famous poem?

Mrs. Good's class made fraction bracelets. Each student designed their own bracelet, found the denominator (total number of beads), then found the numerator for each type of bead they had on their bracelet. Then they added the fractions together to make sure they had one whole.

Reading our library books.

When it is too cold to go outside, we find ways to get our wiggles out! Indoor recess can be fun!

Three students have recently earned Taco Mayo meals by passing multiple Study Island topics. Way to go Janaya, Kindyl and Gabe!
