Parsons USD 503 welcomes Alyssa Shields to the Viking family.
Shields will be teaching Parsons High School graphic design.
She graduated with her bachelor of science in secondary business education from Emporia State University.
|This is her first year teaching, but prior to that she was hired previously in USD 503 as a part-time sub and her home base was Guthridge. Halfway through the year she was offered a position to long-term sub in family and consumer science at Parsons Middle School
“I just recently got engaged. My fiancé is a registered nurse at Via Christi. We enjoy playing disc golf together. I also really enjoy doing puzzles and scrapbooking," she said.
“As for my goals for this year, I just really hope to learn from my students.”
