The March nominee chosen to receive the Vikings: Above & Beyond Award is Guthridge Secretary Tanara “Tara” Cervantes.
“I was super excited that I was nominated, and I truly feel loved by all Guthridge staff,” she said.
Mrs. Cervantes started as the Guthridge Secretary during the 2016-17 school year, making this her ninth year serving as secretary, and so much more.
One of her nominators had this to say: “This staff member goes above and beyond to provide an energetic environment for all students, staff, and guests to Guthridge Elementary school. She is the first person to greet guests and she does so with a smile and a bubbly laugh. Not only does she keep the office at Guthridge Elementary running smoothly, she looks for extra ways to provide uplifting experiences for the staff - a popcorn bar, an Easter egg hunt, and seasonal scavenger hunts (to name a few). In addition, she diligently looks for sponsors to donate items to our school to provide incentives to our students.”
