The final recipient of the Vikings: Above and Beyond Award for the 2024-2025 school
year is Lincoln Secretary Meagan Genton.
“I am truly honored to have been nominated for an award, and I am even more grateful
to have won,” Genton said. “My heartfelt thanks go out to the individual who nominated
me. Working with my Lincoln students has been a deeply rewarding experience, and I
cherish the opportunity to witness their growth over the years.”
“This year marks my third year as the building secretary, a role that I have embraced
with enthusiasm and dedication,” Genton said.
Prior to this position, Genton served as the billing clerk for Lincoln for one year. Before
joining the Viking family, she spent a decade at Labette Health as a phlebotomist, where
she honed her skills in patient care and support.
Genton’s nominator had this to say about her: “Meagan can cover almost any position
at Lincoln school. She knows every student and most every parent. Aside from the
principal, Meagan is usually first to get here and last to leave. She can answer any
question you have, and if she doesn't know the answer she will find out. Meagan has
also had to do the financial secretary job at times, due to turn over in that position.
Meagan is always polite when assisting upset students or parents. When Meagan is
gone, everyone struggles. She is a super important part of this school. She goes above
and beyond each and every day! Despite any personal issues or feelings, Meagan
always smiles.”
Genton will again be at her front desk greeting students and parents entering the doors
of Lincoln next year.
“I look forward to continuing my journey with my Lincoln family and contributing to the
success of our students,” she said. “Thank you once again for this incredible recognition.”
