At the Board of Education meeting held Monday evening, the Board voted to make up one of the four snow days that we had in February. School will now be in session on April 18th as the make-up day.

Parsons Middle School students passing all their classes, who had high attendance, few tardies, and 0 discipline referrals for this quarter enjoyed the sweet reward of getting to go bowling Wednesday.
There is no school Friday and next week is Spring Recess, but there was still lots of learning happening at Lincoln School today.
Parsons Middle School seventh grade students accompanied small groups of Garfield students on a Nature Scavenger Hunt in Forest Park this morning. Students attempted to find as many of the 25 items listed as they could, like a bird, a feather, a squirrel, a worm, and clover.
Some Parsons Middle School seventh grade students spent the morning reading and playing games with children at Lincoln. Other seventh graders went to Forest Park with Garfield, while eighth grade went to Pittsburg State University, and sixth grade participated in Finance Now. .
Parsons schools will dismiss early Monday, March 10.

Mrs. Strode's third grade centered some of their learning about the many leaders of this country around President's Day. Students researched individual presidents and used the information they gathered to make informational posters they can put up to share what they learned.
Darece Waun's third grade students set about writing poetry Friday. Each individualized poem fit under the theme "The Best Part of Me.". The assignment allowed some introspection for students, and appreciation for who they are, as they learned about this form of literature.
Studying the letter "W" in kindergarten never smelled or tasted so good as it did Friday at Lincoln, as children wrapped up the week with some wonderful waffles.
SparkWheel coordinator Tanner Smith stopped by Mrs. Kennett's kindergarten class Friday and helped students with some word puzzles.
Mrs. Kennett took time to help individual students with their handwriting skills Friday, like this young man practicing writing the lower case letter "p".
Today's children might think it silly that children had books that had paper dolls in them you could cut out, and clothes you could cut out and bend the tabs on to hang the clothes on the doll. Now the clothes are a fitted with the move of a finger tip on a computer screen.
