
We Are Hiring: First Grade Teacher (2nd Semester)


Lincoln first graders have been learning about farms and Monday took a trip to the Manley family farm in Labette City. Students got to feed sheep, saw livestock guardian dogs, beef, a donkey, pigs and chickens. They went on a hayride, learned about bee hives and tasted honey.




PHS students toured Ducommun Aerostructures and learned about the company history and industry, types of positions available, requirements for hire, and advancement potential.








Dr. Tim Dawsey , Exec. Dir. of the National Institute for Manufacturing Innovation (NIMA) in Pittsburg, spoke to PHS chemistry and physics students about what NIMA's team of top scientists in the nation do in the field of polymer research and development, and NIMA's growth. NIMA internships are available to both high school and college students. Educational opportunities in the field through Pittsburg State University extend from two-year degrees through PhD's under cooperative agreements with other universities. Scholarships are available. PHS Volleyball players visited the 3-year-old preschool children at Lincoln and painted pictures on their faces during their interaction time.







Garfield students toured the Parsons Historical Museum, Farm Heritage Museum, and Railroad Museum, learning about Parsons' history.










Students toured Sun Graphics and learned about various types of printing the company does such as programs, brochures, calendars, boxes, displays, books and more. In addition, students learned about jobs that exist in the print market, and some requirements and expectations.






As a fundraiser for Stu-Co, PHS students had the chance to buy pieces of tape with which they could secure instructor Paul Duroni to a wall in the school. Enough tape was sold,
that Duroni got to hang out in the hall for a good while! Way to stick up for StuCo Vikes!



Interested PHS students toured Tank Connection in Parsons and learned about materials, processes, work volume and job positions in the employee-owned, internationally-leading industry that provides bolted storage tanks around the world to store liquid, gas and solids. #PKallday






A big "Thank You" to the Parsons Fire Department, whose firefighters committed time to teaching our elementary school students about what to do in case of a fire at home or on their person. They made the experience fun for Guthridge students by letting them put out a house fire.


Some Parsons students participated in the sidewalk chalk contest that was part of the first PK Art Festival in downtown Parsons Saturday.

A small group of Parsons USD 503 students in Vikings Dance & Color Guard volunteered to perform during the first PK Art Festival in downtown Parsons Saturday. Thank you Brianne Ford for providing so many opportunities like this for our students to give back to the community!


Cheerleaders and dancers performed Friday night throughout the game and at half time, helping rally the crowd for the Vikings.

Flower girls and ring bearers performed their royal duties at the 2024 Parsons High School Homecoming Coronation Friday, and had a little fun along the way.

The PHS Football Homecoming Queen candidates nominated by their respective clubs took to the football field Friday night with their escorts during the 2024 Coronation event.



The PHS Football Homecoming Coronation was Friday.. The Royal Court was Princesses SeQuoyah Reece, escorted by Khaliq Abdul-Latif, and Angie Gloriau, escorted by Chandler Hentzen. The 2024 Homecoming Queen was Saylah Rea, escorted by Conner Barcus.

CHC-SEK was on hand Thursday morning to provide flu shots to students and staff at Parsons High School. Each year the district provides the vaccines free of charge for those who want them. Thank you USD 503 and CHC-SEK for making it so convenient!
