The pallet of bricks from Washington is just south of Southern on 29th street. Please be courteous of others and limit the number of bricks you take. These will be available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

The razing of Washington School began Tuesday morning. It is anticipated the demolition, backfill and other aspects of the project will take about a month. The contractor plans to put some bricks outside the fence for those who would like to get one.










The learning never stops for USD 503 teachers and administrators who on Monday participated in professional development activities throughout the day. Teachers participated in a High Impact Learning workshop and LETRS training, a language essentials course.










There will be No School on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Design Mechanical was among several businesses working in, on and around the old Washington School Tuesday. The company was collecting refrigerant from roof top air-conditioning units. Interior Demolition is taking place this week. Exterior demolition will begin next week.

PHS horticulture students took a field trip to The Good Woods Tuesday. They visited the Good's prairie restoration project, that is well known in Kansas. Students collected a variety of specimens and seeds to take back to their classroom.










Garfield staff and Parsons High School TSA members both volunteered their time Tuesday to decorate tables for the Relay For Life Survivors Dinner, and serve the survivors their evening meal.

Soccer scheduled for today in Paola has been shifted to a 6:30 start time and will be Varsity only due to the heat.

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is selling luminaries for $5 to honor survivors, those battling cancer, and to remember loved ones. The luminaries will decorate Forest Park on the night of Relay for Life - Sept. 9th. We are taking donations through Sept. 8th. We will have a 50/50 pot at the Parsons/LCHS football game on Sept. 8th and also be selling luminaries that night.

Thanks to a handful of Garfield teachers, a lot of Parsons' little Vikings' faces will greet those walking past downtown businesses during Moonlight Madness this evening. It was a great show of spirit on the eve of the first Vikings football game of the season. #GoVikes!




Parsons High School graphic design students work on a design project for a candy or candy bar they invented.

Debate/Forensics coach Ed Workman and his class look on as students act out their ideas in front of the class, improving, helping them to hone their skills.

Due to an HVAC issue, the USD 503 school board meeting will not be broadcast live this evening, it will be recorded and posted at a later date. The meeting is being moved to the PHS Community Room.

Parsons USD 503 elementary school, sixth grade and freshmen students all began school Thursday, along with new students to the district. All other students start school Friday.




Parsons High School Seniors worked last night to finish painting parking spaces before the start of school Thursday.
