
Mrs. Helton's class did an experiment where we simulated a rocket blasting off with film canisters, water, and alka seltzer




6th grade art students discovered the power of value, one of the fundamental elements of art, and learned to harness it by shading with drawing pencils to add depth and dimension to 2D shapes under the guidance of Miss Vincent to transform into 3D. Then they applied their knowledge to create a stunning optical illusion, dubbed the 'optical onion’ effect, using a range of colors and three distinct shades.


For Traveling Tuesday, the Leadership class went to Lincoln to help 1st graders work on their soccer skills. ⚽️ 😊 Being a role model is what it's all about!

Students in Mr. Campmier's class began their small group technology workshop safety presentations Friday. The lesson provided students the chance to practice their presentation and public speaking skills, and receive feedback on what they can do to improve, good skills to hone now given upper grades will require the students present to their classes more frequently.

Students at Parsons Middle School had the opportunity to participate in free hearing and eye screenings provided by Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas. CHC-SEK provides the service annually to all students Pre-K-12 whose parents or guardians wish them to participate.

Rather than learning about lab safety from a book, Mr. Campmier divided Parsons Middle School technology students into small groups and assigned each a category of safety over which they are responsible for creating a slide show to present to the rest of the class to teach them about those aspects of safety they need to know. Presentations are later this week.

To find the baseline of knowledge for her 8th grade American history students, Mrs. Shaffer developed games of Kahoot! Many questions Monday focused on students' knowledge of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights. Students did fairly well.

Seventh grade students geography students are studying the Northeastern region of the United States. Students have much to learn as they discover the megalopolis, known for its rich history, coastline, Appalachian Mountains, natural beauty, culture and cuisine.
