As part of Constitution Day 2024, Garfield third graders joined with around 13,000 other third grade students from Kansas to learn about one of our Constitutional rights during a live online discussion with professionals in our state court system.







We took a small brain break and celebrated National Play-Doh between subjects. It was so much fun!! So many creative creations!






For the past two weeks, we have been learning about different cultures and families around the world. Mr. Medina shared a little bit of his culture by making pico de gallo for the students to try.

Character, setting and events was one of our comprehension skills this week. These students applied what they learned to fill out story maps about a book they read.




This week in science, we are continuing our unit on animals, habitats and adaptations. Today's mystery science question was why do frogs say ribbet? Students listened to the sounds made by five different frogs and had to find words to describe the sound each one made.




Ten members of Team Tierney (9 pictured) have met their September AR goal and we are only halfway through the month! These students love to read!
